The Policy and Business Development Expert shall be an impressive candidate with a breath of experience in relation to business development, policy development, market, business and cost analysis as well as data and resource modeling.The incumbent shall be responsible to support business BD directorate of the company in strategic policy and planning, proposal development, identifying financial sources, and marketing and sale of company’s product. The incumbent shall also assist the company to identify key business opportunities within the mining, natural resources and bulk handling mineral industries. The Policy and Business Development Expert shall also be involved on standard production models based on clients’/market demand.

Job Description and key responsibilities
Policy and Strategic Planning;
• Participate in and contribute to corporate governance and strategic planning discussions;
• Identify business development trends and work with BD department to develop concrete, time-bound action plans to strategically position company’s services and product;
• Proactively identify new business opportunities in accordance to CDI’s business portfolio, including investment, donor funded programs and private sector clients;
• Collaborate with other department or inter-company leaders and engineers to develop new investment strategies and business development opportunities;
• Document and monitor business processes, business rules, metrics and standard operating procedures;
• Identify potential funding agencies and secure investment for the company’s mega projects;
• Advise on bid/no-bid process, teaming strategy, and recruitment;
• Maintain corporate reporting on business development efforts, including tracking and capture efficiency and win/loss record;

Proposal Development
• Lead and support BD department in the bid process including business concept development, proposal writing, negotiation etc;
• Review and edit proposals and concepts developed by BD department;
• Assist the HR department in identifying key personnel and other short- and long term consultants;
• Conduct specific trainings for BD staff on proposal and BD best practices;

• Represent CDI across industry and practice area events and meet with clients overseas with the view of strengthening both the firm’s brand and building and existing relationships with clients;
• Strengthen and grow CDI’s relationships with clients and partners;
• Support BD department in developing marketing and outreach tools;
• Keeping strong relation with donor communities and good access to them
• Responsible for finding and negotiation of credits/loan for overhead projects of CDI from states, organization and companies
• Applying international standard for sale Core Drillers products
• Business development policy and procedures for various nature of markets
